Pfft – hands up if you’re exhausted?
I had 2 weeks off for Christmas and I still feel like I could sleep for a month. After the rush and buzz of Christmas, January has left me feeling flat as a pancake. Could be the cold weather, could be the lack of vegetables I ate in December (who knows?)
I’m generally a positive and upbeat person, but I currently feel so tired and stressed about nothing. If you’re feeling the same, read on for a few ways to perk yourself up. If you’re not feeling worn out, tell me your secrets!
Get a good night’s sleep
This might sound like an obvious one, but it’s easily overlooked. I have a little bit of a reputation for being a grandma, but I’ve come to really value a good night’s sleep. The average adult needs 6-8 hours sleep a night, but it definitely varies from person-to-person. I’ve noticed I feel much more sluggish if I’ve had anything less than 7 and a half hours.
Yes – the weather is shocking at the moment and sometimes you just don’t want to leave the warm comforts of your house (unless you’re a student – it’s probably warmer outside). Getting out for even 10 minutes, stretching your legs and taking in a bit of fresh air will do you the world of good. Whether you walk to the shops or just head out to take a cheeky snow picture for IG, it’ll help clear your head. Just don’t forget to wrap up hella’ warm.
Pop the kettle on
Is there anything better than sitting down with a cuppa’? When things are getting a bit much, make yourself a brew – you can’t go wrong. How about treating yourself to one of these beautiful initial mugs from Anthropologie?
Be a gogglebox
When it’s far too cold to go outside, take some time to turn off your phone and catch up on your favourite series. If you’re after something new, you can check out my post on my favourite Netflix series.
Keep your head up
January is a dark, cold month, but luckily it’s nearly over. If 2017 is anything to go by, it’ll be May before you know it!
Have you got anything you love to do in Winter?
