Netflix Picks To Get You Through The January Blues

To say I love telly is an understatement. I couldn’t think of many things I love more than cosying up with a good series and my idea of current affairs is knowing which Kardashian is pregnant (apart from now – is anyone else confused as heck?) And what’s not to love about Netflix? Clever enough to know you cba to pick up the remote to play the next episode, but caring enough to remind you you’ve been watching for 6 hours now and should probably start doing something productive.

The Crown

I’ll kick start things with my current favourite. I finished watching this and was absolutely heartbroken. (This is why you shouldn’t binge watch things, Polly.)

I love anything slightly historical and this gave me a whole new obsession with the queen. I watched series 2 within a week and I’m seriously considering starting back with the first series, just to get my fix.

Now, where’s my prince? (watch out Megan Markle.)

Stranger Things

Love anything a┬ábit obscure? Wish you had the ability to control things with your mind? This is the series for you. There’s something so entrancing about watching a bunch of 10-year-olds fight monsters.

Watch if you liked Pretty Little Liars.

Gilmore Girls

DISCLAIMER – do not watch if you have any intention of having a mildly successful 2018.

Watching 7 seasons of this will make you want to give your mum a big ol’ hug.

Bridesmaids

Oh holy moly – this is my favourite ever film. With more quotes than the Daily Mail, this will have you howling with laughter. Who says crazy pre-wedding parties are just for The Hangover lot? From food poisoning to drunken plane rides, this will make you feel a whole lot better about life.

Me Before You

Get the tissues at the ready. I read the book and knew exactly what was coming, yet I still felt like I’d been hit by a truck by the end. This film will play with your emotions, so it’s best to avoid it if you’re feeling sad.

Rick and Morty

Bear with me here. A cartoon may be a bit of a curveball, but this was brilliant. I watched one episode with my boyfriend and could not understand how this had been commisioned for the telly. Boy was I wrong. This is just random and spontaneous, it’s brilliant. Only sad thing is, you’ll have to wait until 2019 for the next series once you’re done. Waaah.

So now I’ve watched pretty much the whole of Netflix – anyone got any recommendations? Pretty please!
